Alternatives
As part of the NEPA process, the FAA independently identifies and evaluates alternatives to the Airport Authority’s Proposed Project.
An initial list of alternatives has been developed for the EIS. Alternatives have been grouped into the following “families”:
No Build Alternatives, which do not include any physical improvements to the SAT airfield
Build Alternatives that retain Runway 4-22
Build Alternatives that include decommissioning of Runway 4-22
Although not identified as distinct alternatives, evaluation of alternatives will also need to consider construction phasing
